I didnt realize the boys record was that good (and be honest, you didnt either at first), but its really not fair to just assume the girl was terrible and the boy would steamroll her especially when the girl has beaten boys during the season.

I didn't know his record, but again more times than not that wouldn't have mattered. I did know however that he had placed 3rd at state before,so I knew he had to be solid.

Just for the record, the record has nothing to do with making state.
Carroll County's Jesse Pedero went 2-2 at Reg. 4 and came in 4th.
Let's say he went 1-1 at the SWD tourney after a bad year where he had been sick and went 0-10. Possible to be 3-13 and in.

103 , 112 are really hard to fill. I think they maybe changing weight Classes some next yr. There was a girl that made it to state last in Va single A last yr. She didn't fair to well. I respect the kid for sticking to his beliefs. I also respect the girl for going out and competing in the sport. There has been a big increase in girls wrestling the last few yr locally so I guess this is probably the same across the U.S. Kinda funny R13 is the biggest critic and he has probably never stepped on the mat and has no concept of the range of feelings and emotions you can go through. It allot different from other sports.

Most of the guys Ive seen wrestle girls have been pretty respectful of the girls and not just slam em and pin em. While Most could have. I also seen this girl from St Paul beat a boy from Appy a few Weekends ago.

When my brother Aaron was wrestling a few years back they had a tournament at Letcher. There was a girl wrestling 140-152 range and she had deltoids that looked like Schwartzenegger. She won the tourney and it wasn't even close. I was a little afraid of her. hehe

She even broke a guys nose. No one in her weight class wanted to wrestle her.

I think some of you all missed the entire point, I never said anything about him not wanting to do it because its a bad situation, I'm saying he shouldn't hide behind his religion in some attempt to avoid criticism. Doesn't seem that many are taking into account how she felt, I'm sure she didn't want to come that far to win that way and be seen as someone lucky to be there or he was doing her any favor...he didn't, actualltly IMO the exact opposite, but its not quick to be pointed out because he of the reason he SAID. That's my problem with it.

So what if he said it's against his religion. It's his opinion not yours. Yeah maybe he should have wrestled her to give her a chance to prove her skill but he personally did not feel comfortable with it. You've never wrestled so you have no idea how uncomfortable it is sometimes, especially if its against a girl. We get the point, you disagree with him. Give the kid a break.

Seems to me he is facing plenty of criticism from you.

Can't spell it out any simpler than I did, yet some can't grasp it.

Umm, sorry but I didn't miss the point. I just don't know how you KNOW the kid is hiding behind his religion. You THINK he is but I don't THINK he is. We didn't miss your point. We just didn't think it was valid. If you want more girls to win at wrestling maybe you should wrestle tee hee
